It's Almost Normal Looking Mansion on Phoenix Way, Saturday Morning

Derek was still laying on the couch, on his stomach thank you, watching bad television this morning. His back was almost at 100%, but for now he was going to enjoy the wonder of having a place to recuperate that wasn't abandoned or looking like someone might build a meth lab there any moment now.

It was almost novel!

Now he just had to avoid Stiles until he could move normally again.

"Fix Netflix," he muttered, twisting a little to flop over on the couch, back toward Stiles. "Mike did something to it."

Mike did no such thing.

"Sure he did," Stiles said wryly as he reached for the remote. "Missing Real Housewives?"

"No." Yes. It was soothing. Shut up. "Sick of Food Network."

Because he ate half of the kitchen while healing. In his defense, he needed the protein.

"How could you be sick of Food Network?" Blasphemy! It turned out that the Netflix wasn't all that screwed up (maybe one day Derek would learn about the input button) so it didn't take long for Stiles to have it up. "Fixed."

Yeah it wasn't even broken. At all.

Well, then what excuse would he have to have Stiles come over? God, Stiles.

"Nothing on there is nearby." It was a foodtease.

"Oh my god you're such a baby," Stiles said. If he looked distracted it was because he was debating on moving to give Derek more room to stretch out or staying where he was.

"I'd offer to make you something but I don't want to add food poisoning to your other injuries."

"Yeah. Let's not," Derek replied dryly, solving Stiles' dilemma by shoving his into the spot between the seat and back of the couch behind Stiles. "Order a pizza."

Or ten.

"I owe Mike food."

"How many am I gonna have to get in order to ensure Mike actually gets some pizza?" He knew how you werewolves were.

It was a wonder the Hale family had managed to feed all the kids in that house.

"...a lot."

Stiles rolled his eyes. Typical. "Must be nice to have werewolf metabolism."

"Has it's upsides," Derek muttered, settling in to relax. Slowly, but he was relaxing. "You're a teenager, isn't that supposed to be about the same?"

"Well I'm not gonna be one forever." Pfft, look at him, he was going to be a beanpole until his early 30's at least. "You have any toppings you don't like? 'Cause I'm not ordering eight pepperoni pizzas, I like variety."

What was wrong with a dozen meat lovers pizzas?

"No olives."

Stiles lifted his eyebrows because, yeah, learning something small like that about Derek was kind of weird. Weird in a good way.

He pulled out his phone and started tapping open his browser so he could order online. "No olives, I see. I'm not much for pineapple. 'Caused many fights between me and Scott."

That got a very quiet little chuckle and an amused look that could be considered 'douchey' if you were so inclined.

"Pineapple is worth fighting over?"

[robinonadderall]

"Pizza is serious business," Stiles said, trying not to show how pleased he was over the fact that he sort of made Derek laugh. Shh, it was nice even with the douchey look. "This was before the werewolf thing, obviously. Back when I actually stood a chance of beating him in a fight."

Oh, Stiles. You could beat Scott and Derek just by making sad eyes at them. One day you'll learn this.

Derek held up a hand like he wasn't doubting how serious pizza was in the long term. "Fruit doesn't belong on pizza."

"I knew I liked you for a reason," Stiles joked as he finished up ordering. "Two of the pizzas are gonna be meat lovers."

Stiles figured Derek would like that. Consider it his part in trying to make up for the fighting over the last two days.

Because they needed to be extra codependent when someone was in danger of dying.

So.

The corner of Derek's mouth turned up in a grin before he got that back under control. "I have no clue how you and Scott survived as long as you have."

Because so far he's only seen 'ohmygodAllisonlookedatme' Scott.

"We have skills. Skills you can't even fathom," Stiles said, smirking. "And, you know, helps my dad is the sheriff and his mom is a nurse. They offered a lot of protection from the dumb stuff we used to do."

"Do I even want to ask how many hospital visits happened?" No, Derek. You did not.

[robinonadderall]

"Dude, you've seen me move, I can't even walk in a straight line," Stiles said. "I think I spent the entirety of middle school with a cast on at least one part of my body."

"And now you're running with werewolves," Derek replied dryly.

[robinonadderall]

"Haven't broken a bone doing that yet."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek grumbled at that, trying and failing to focus on the television. "Try to keep it that way."
