Laura was once again gone. And Derek was totally fine about that. Yeah, totally fine. He was just glaring down at his coffee cup like it offended him on every level possible and would set it on fire with the power of his hatred.

And he was apparently talking to Stiles again.

Well, it had really been more of a kidnapping because the kid had his jeep available to drive them to Denny's while the Camaro was still in Beacon Hills. But, you know, whatever got him a Grand Slam of sadness.

Sending Jack back to the safety of Fandom might have been a good choice for preventing another person in his life from dying, but it was playing hell on his own ability to survive. Because he was quite possibly too dumb to function on his own.

Which was why he was at the high school.
