More Full of Embarrassment Than Creepy Mansion, Saturday Afternoon

Derek had listened to radio this morning. Which meant Derek was hiding in his house to avoid the vast amount of judgement out there. Well, okay, mostly because he had The Issues. But everyone knew that.

And that would be why he was glaring at the kitchen to figure out what the hell he needed to angrily stress bake until this all blew over.

Spoiler: it involved eating chocolate chip cookie dough. He lived on the edge.

Stiles had listened to radio too but didn't think much of it. They had a week to go, he thought it was fine if everybody knew. He was actually pretty sure everybody already knew before this.

"Hey, what's up--ooh cookie dough!"

Well, that was because Stiles had a more healthy response to things. So. Congrats, Stiles.

Congrats.

"It's for baking." He said as he ate more.

Stiles pouted. "But you're eating it."

"There are eggs in it," Derek warned. Like that would stop Stiles.

"Derek, I'm not a child." He could eat cookie dough if he wanted to, damn it.

Just be glad Derek didn't make bacon for this.

"Did you hear radio?" he asked, sighing as he shoved a spoon at Stiles so they could share the cookie dough.

"Yeah," he said, grabbing a spoonful of cookie dough. "What about it?"

"The squirrels--" Derek started. Then couldn't figure out where to go with that. Other than terror over the glittery notes. "We're keeping them away from the house next week."

That worked.

Stiles huffed out a laugh. "I really don't think the squirrels are interested in hearing us have sex."

[justlurkinghere]

"It's just weird."

Imagine if he knew about all the porn written about him. Imagine.

"It's not that big of a deal," he said. "Don't worry so much."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek huffed anyway, taking another spoonful. "How are you?"

He shrugged. "Still not sleeping great."

[justlurkinghere]

That got him a shoulder bump that was probably meant to be comforting.

Stiles smiled. "You plan on making cookies out of this dough?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Eventually." No. He just wanted to eat something in his brooding.

"Okay so I won't eat all of it then," he said with a nod. "Thanks again. For the whole werecoyote thing."

[justlurkinghere]

"You asked," Derek replied with a shrug. Because apparently that's all it took, Stiles.

[robinonadderall]

"Still appreciate it," he said. "My dad said Malia got home safe to her dad. Don't think she'll be joining the high school any time soon though."

[justlurkinghere]

"Wouldn't think so," Derek replied dryly. "How's..."

Oh god, he was asking this.

"...Lydia?"

[robinonadderall]

"Fine," he said slowly. "Why, did you order a hit out on her or something and wanted to know how it was going?"

[justlurkinghere]

"No." Derek gave him a look for that. "No. She almost had her ankle broken. I was concerned."

[robinonadderall]

"Didn't think you liked her much," he said with a shrug.

[justlurkinghere]

"I don't." He didn't. Because jealousy. "You do."

"Well yeah she's my friend," Stiles said. "I think you'd like her if you get to know her."
