So, Florida was warm and wonderful. And Derek hated it so much.

But it made for a nice trip around the damn near deserted FSU campus earlier that day, at least. And now there was a trip to the beach. Because they were in Florida. And it was a trip to the beach or a trip to Disney.

And Derek looked terrible in mouse ears. So.

He sat in the sand, looking surly and unapproachable to people. Which was his default expression after 'tragic and emotionally traumatized'.

"You can go when you're eighteen." While Derek glowered and pretended he didn't care.

"Fine," he said. "Four months from now I get strippers."

"Oh I will." Actually, no. He'd probably get embarrassed and want to die. "I've kind of seen strippers before. Do the cage dangers at The Jungle count as strippers?"

"No." Because excuse you, Derek had never been a stripper. "That's just dancing."

"They weren't really wearing a lot of clothing though." Like...just tiny underwear. And body oil.

"Still not stripping," Derek said definitively. "You don't shove dollars at them."

"This is true," he said. "The ones at The Jungle should be paying me dollars for how gropey they get outside of the cages."

Stiles, they weren't groping you. You just attracted gay guys and drag queens who wanted to take you under their wing.

"Dude, ask Scott, I can't be in there for more than five seconds before I get drag queens and guys in speedos flocking to me," Stiles said. "I text them all the time."

"Drag queens and cage dancers," Derek said to confirm this.

"Uh huh," he said with a nod. "They're really nice. Keep giving me tips on what to wear and everything."

Most of it involved women's clothing which Stiles thought was nice, but inappropriate for day to day wear.

"Do you go there a lot?"

"Nah, not really," he said. "I'm not in Beacon Hills that often and Scott's straight, so."

"I worked at one of those bars once." WHY DID HE NEED TO SHARE THIS? DAMN IT, STILES.

Stiles made a noise like he was choking on air. Or leftover sand that was in his mouth. "Seriously?"

Derek shrugged like it wasn't a big deal. "Laura got a fake ID to work as a bartender. They needed dancers."

And he was from Beacon Hills.

"I didn't have to talk to people."
