Clint's annoyance disappeared as quickly as it had come at the mention of food. "Really? What kind? Oh! And thank you for letting me come and stay at your house." He'd almost forgotten politeness in the face of pizza!

"Meatlovers," Derek replied brightly. "Stiles bought it! And Mike bought a lot of snacks."

"Cool! Um, should I have bought food too?" Clint asked, suddenly a little nervous. "I could go home and get some."

"No, they're old. So they have to feed us."

"Oooooh." Yeah, that made total sense to Clint too. "I'm glad you know grownups who are nice like that. Do you think they'll make us go to sleep early?"

"Nah, they're cool babysitters." A beat. "But Mike is boring."

"Is he nice? Boring's not so bad," Clint said with a shrug. "If he's mean, that's bad."

"Of course he's nice. He's a babysitter." Oh, sweet summer child. "But he doesn't think we can play in the woods."

"Awww, why not? The woods are fun! There's so many trees to climb and animals to see." That was totally safe!

Derek shrugged. "He doesn't like fun. And he doesn't have a fridge."

That's right, Mike. They were besmirching your honor/

"Where does he keep all his food then?" Clint asked with a headtilt. "Won't it get all gross and smelly?"

"Maybe he just eats fast food?"

Clint thought about that for a moment. "That'd be kind of cool. Like, pizza and hamburgers every day!"

"I'd get in trouble if I tried that." When he was an adult, he was going to only eat fast food. Really.

"I don't know if I'd get in trouble. If my dad didn't see me..." Clint trailed off with a shrug. "I'd have to hide it."
