It was hot out. Not as hot as it could have been, but still hot enough that Derek didn't want to move much after taking Puppy Joe for a walk. So, while the dog bounded on past him to drink all the water his tiny stomach could handle and flop out on the cool tile floor of the kitchen, Derek was left to flop onto the couch.

And wish he'd peeled his shirt off before falling over.

It was sticking to him and gross and summer was awful. Why couldn't it always be jacket weather? He was a fan of jacket weather.
