Beacon Hills, CA - Friday Night

After spending his evening lurking along the edges of a high school party in order to keep an eye Scott so that he didn't freak out and murder everyone there, Derek had really had enough. Because, really. He didn't like adult parties, why would he like being anywhere near a bunch of idiotic teenagers drinking and groping each other.

Woods Just Outside Beacon Hills, CA - Monday Morning

He'd expected Stiles and his friend Scott to come back at some point or another. Whether it was for the inhaler or because the boy had been bitten by whoever it was that killed Laura, he'd expected them to come. So it wasn't exactly hard to pick up their clumsy footsteps coming through the woods.

After getting a call from Laura, Derek hadn't hesitated to book a portal out to California. Answering the call of his alpha and, more importantly, his sister was the only thing that mattered after the things Stiles had pointedly talked around.
