Kid Friendly Mansion of Moderate Creep Levels, Saturday Morning

The house Derek woke up this time wasn't as dilapidated or creepy as the last one. Which was a definite plus.

And there was still the puff ball dog! Another plus.

The biggest plus, however? Fully stocked fridge.

So, with the puff ball dog tucked carefully into one of the flannel shirts he'd found upstairs, Derek was digging through the stuff to make himself a sandwich. Sorry about stealing all the lunch meat, Mike.

Kitty (and her tutu) had made it all the way here in her roller skates, and debated stopping at the mansion, which was bigger and creepier than anything she ever saw at home. So naturally she went up to the front door and knocked to see if anyone was home.

Which meant there was a fluffy dog at the door, staring at her through the thin windows on the sides before Derek appeared to check it out. "Hello?"

"Hi! Cool house oh my gosh a puppy!" Kitty greeted him.

"He's mine." You can't have him. So, nyah.

"He's so cute!" she squeed. "Can I pet him? Does he like pets?"

"Sure?" You'd think with two sisters he'd be a pro at handling this kind of thing, but nope. "If you want."

"Thanks! Here, doggie," Kitty said, holding onto the doorway so she wouldn't fall over.

And of course Puppy Joe wandered over for the attention and love that was his due in life.

"What's your name?"

"Kitty," she said, managing not to topple over as she started petting Puppy Joe in all his fluffiness. "What's yours?"

"Derek."

Puppy Joe, don't fall over. She wasn't going to draw you like one of her French girls.

"Nice to meet ya," Kitty said. "What's your dog's name?"

"It's, uh, Joe." Because adding 'Puppy' made him seem like a little kid.

"He's so cute. I wish I could have a pet," Kitty said, standing up straight again.

"Oh hey." Stiles didn't want to assume who the kid was but she did look familiar. "Don't fall on your face."

"I won't," Kitty assured him. "I'm a really good skater. One day I'll learn how to stop, too!"

"So how do you stop now?" he asked.

[throughaphase]

"I grab onto something and don't fall down," she said. "It's a good method for now."

"I'm familiar with that method," he said. "Uh...what's your name?"

He had a guess, but he didn't want to freak a kid out by knowing her name and everything. Stranger danger and all that.

"Kitty. What's yours?" She was making all the new friends today.

[robinonadderall]

"Stiles," he answered. "Nice tutu."

"Thanks. I'm a ballerina, you know," she said, because he totally wanted to know that.

"Are you now?" he asked, looking amused. "Professional or just a hobby?"

[throughaphase]

"I'm gonna go pro when I'm big. I'm gonna be a ballerina and a teacher and a scientist." She paused. "I'm gonna be really busy."

[robinonadderall]

"Yes you are," he agreed. "And you're going to have to spend a lot in tuition money."

"That's why I put everything straight in my piggy bank," Kitty said proudly. "Also I'm gonna get scholarships."

The piggy bank would do nothing for her, but the scholarships really would.
