IHoP on the Mainland, Monday Evening

Tomorrow was Stiles' eighteenth birthday, which meant Derek was taking him out to dinner tonight. So that he could spend tomorrow with his dad and Scott.

Aren't you glad Derek was in contact with the Sheriff, Stiles? Aren't you?

Derek put the sensible, highy safety rated car into park and stared at the windshield. "Do you want your gift now or inside?"

"I don't know like fifty or sixty." He wanted to be thorough!

And up went Derek's eyebrows!

"You want to try them all?"

"I said no to some things," he said. "And we don't have to do them all in one night."

"Oh, good," Derek said faintly. Then he bit the bullet and went for the big question. "Was there anything you wanted to make sure to do on graduation?"

"You mean other than the actual sex part?" he asked, face turning a little red. "I'd kind of like to blow you."

Doing this in public was a good choice, Stiles. Even though Derek was now choking on his pancakes.

"I'd like that too," he said, trying not to sound too eager.

Stiles couldn't help but smile at that reaction even if he was still a little embarrassed for saying it. "I'd be kind of worried if you didn't."

That got another terrible napkin balled up and thrown weakly at him. "I'd like to try it too."

There. Words used.

"So generous of you," he teased, letting the napkin bounce off of him. It's not like he had the coordination to block it.

...that was a lie.

"I meant," Derek said, rolling his eyes and viciously cutting into his eggs. "I'd like to try blowing you."

He'd distracted himself enough for this!

"I know what you meant," he said, though it did make him turn redder at the thought of it. "I was teasing you."

"Because you're an ass."

[robinonadderall]

"Yeah and you want this ass." Boom, double entendre.

[justlurkinghere]

"Against my better judgement, yeah."

He was sooooo into you.

[robinonadderall]

"Think you're going to regret this decision?" he asked, still teasing.

[justlurkinghere]

You know what you get for that, Stiles?

A soft look and a smile. "No."

Because you picked a not so secret romantic, , now deal with it.

Stiles made a disgusted noise but he probably smelled pretty pleased. "You're terrible."

Derek shrugged because he was willing to accept that. Then took a moment to poke at his food before quietly adding, "Thanks. For this."

"For what?" 'Cause he assumed you were paying, Derek.

[justlurkinghere]

Well, of course he was. The sugar daddy that he was.

Derek gave him a confused look right on back. "Being okay with this."

Meaning his weird issues.

[robinonadderall]

"Derek, you don't need to thank me for that," Stiles said. "It's not like you're asking for something huge or completely ridiculous."

[justlurkinghere]

"Still," Derek said with a quick shrug. "I wanted to say it."

[robinonadderall]

"Well you're welcome," he said. "But it's really not that big of a deal. And you were right about the whole thing, it's better to wait."

Derek grinned at that. "Is this the only time I'll hear that phrase?"

"Most likely," he said with a smile of his own. "Patience isn't one of my virtues."
