Tomorrow was Stiles' eighteenth birthday, which meant Derek was taking him out to dinner tonight. So that he could spend tomorrow with his dad and Scott.

Aren't you glad Derek was in contact with the Sheriff, Stiles? Aren't you?

Derek put the sensible, highy safety rated car into park and stared at the windshield. "Do you want your gift now or inside?"

Derek threw his napkin at him. "I have supplies."

Usually for himself.

"Well I figured you'd have lube." 'Cause he's seen your toys, Derek. "But did we need anything else?"

"...I could get condoms too."

Which, of course, was when their food arrived. That poor, poor waitress.

Stiles stared at the table, not making eye contact with anybody until the waitress left. They needed to leave her a good tip that was for sure.

"Did you want to use condoms?" he asked, prodding at his pancakes with his fork.

Derek cleared his throat again. "It's not like I'm able to get STDs or either of us get pregnant."

Stiles nodded. "No condoms then."

Derek was right, it's not like they could give each other anything and Stiles trusted him.

"Though if my dad corners you and asks about safe sex for the love of god lie to him."

Oh god, that was a terrifying mental image. Please protect him from your dad, Stiles.

"We could try them the first time if you'd prefer," Derek said, making a face at the thought.

"No, I trust you," he said, shaking his head. "We don't need them. I mean, it'll make things messier but that's not a bad thing."

Did he realize he was eating the whipped cream off his pancakes while he was saying this? No. Actual coincidence.

Yes. As was Derek staring at him for doing that.

"I trust you too," he said, once he realized what Stiles had said there. And look at all that emotion in there.

Stiles gave Derek a smile for that. 'Cause he knew how hard it was to get over that trust roadblock for him.

"So graduation, sex, no condoms, throwing Mike out of the house--" Still hilarious. "--you're gonna fill out that survey. Anything else or have we covered everything to make this as not awkward as possible when the time comes?"

Ah no it'd still be awkward 'cause Stiles was involved.

The look Derek gave him seriously doubted they could manage this with minimal awkwardness, it was true.

"Do you--" Oh god, he had to say this. "--would you like to top?"

Stiles stared for a few moments. "Was that an option?"

Derek sighed, looking up at the ceiling because could this conversation get any more uncomfortable. "I thought it was pretty obvious. You saw the--toys."

Yes, that was the least distressing word.

"I saw them but I didn't really think about it," he said. "Well, that's a lie, I did think about it, a lot. Like, a lot. But I didn't put that part of it together."

'Cause he was too busy focusing on how hot it was.

"I mean, yeah, I'd like to top. I'd be crazy to say no to that," Stiles said. "Especially if that's what you'd prefer."

"We can try both," Derek suggested quickly. Aw yeah, that made this better. His life had completely gone off the rails here.

"Good 'cause I definitely want to do both," Stiles said. "Actually once you read my answers to that survey you'll find I want to try a lot of things."

A lot of things.

"...just for the record I said no to a lot of that BDSM stuff but I could probably be convinced to try some of it if you wanted to try it out."

Derek glanced down at his pocket. Where that survey was burning a hole away.

GUESS WHAT HE'D BE RESEARCHING TONIGHT.

"How many things are on this?"

"I don't know like fifty or sixty." He wanted to be thorough!

And up went Derek's eyebrows!

"You want to try them all?"

[robinonadderall]

"I said no to some things," he said. "And we don't have to do them all in one night."

"Oh, good," Derek said faintly. Then he bit the bullet and went for the big question. "Was there anything you wanted to make sure to do on graduation?"

"You mean other than the actual sex part?" he asked, face turning a little red. "I'd kind of like to blow you."

Doing this in public was a good choice, Stiles. Even though Derek was now choking on his pancakes.

"I'd like that too," he said, trying not to sound too eager.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles couldn't help but smile at that reaction even if he was still a little embarrassed for saying it. "I'd be kind of worried if you didn't."

That got another terrible napkin balled up and thrown weakly at him. "I'd like to try it too."
