Creepy Old Mansion on Phoenix Way, Sunday Morning

The morning after another full moon with extra werewolves in town was clearly the best time ever. And by 'best time ever' we mean 'Derek wanted to murder everyone involved'.

But that wasn't all that different from usual.

So. You know. Congrats on surviving the full moon and here's to hoping you survive the morning after?

Derek slunk out as soon as he heard footsteps. Once he recognized the scent, the slinking was more surly than usual.

"Looking for someone?"

Hey, at least he'd found a shirt to put on!

Now, at least, Clint had a better idea of how Derek could manage to sneak up on him. And yes, he was grateful for the shirt because god, werewolves, clothing wasn't dangerous.

"Maybe. Where's Stiles' friend?" Clint asked calmly, despite how tense his posture was. "Did you manage to find him?"

"He left with Stiles," Derek replied, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Good," Clint said with a nod, peering between Derek and the window. "So I guess everyone's in one piece?"

"Yeah." Derek was the most loquacious of all the werewolves!

Good, then Derek was fine and Clint hadn't done any harm. Now he didn't have to feel bad, right? "Can I ask what the hell you are? You know, in case we run into each other again."

Derek sighed again, looking away. "We're werewolves. If the full moon didn't give it away."

"You know, I should have assumed that was possible, and yet..." Clint sighed, and shook his head. "Are you guys dangerous?"

Look, he was being nice and not just singling Derek out now.

"Are you?" Derek shot back with a glare.

[so_hawkward]

"If I have to be," Clint replied just as sharply. "If people are in danger."

"Likewise."

[so_hawkward]

"So, what, I'm supposed to believe you're one of the good guys?" Clint said with a headtilt.

"You're the one shooting people in the woods," Derek replied. "I haven't harmed anyone here."

Clint couldn't say the same, of course, but he sure as hell wasn't going to give Derek the satisfaction of knowing that. "I thought you were trying to hurt Stiles. But I guess I was wrong," he said. "Next time, I'll know better."

Did that count as an apology? Maybe?

Not really, but this was Derek so... he wouldn't even consider accepting one.

"Keep your arrows to yourself from now on."

[so_hawkward]

"Keep your fangs to yourself," Clint replied before stalking off, because he was exactly that mature.
