The Preserve, Monday Morning
In Derek's defense, he had noticed an increase of energy today. But he'd assumed it was the sort of restlessness that came along with the season change.
Because he made poor life choices.
Like dragging Stiles' idiot self out running this week. Poor, poor choices. You'd think he would have learned from that singing day.
Derek stood still, listening for anything happening nearby. Because teal deer were a nuisance. Also, he was waiting for Stiles to catch up.

Derek turned his head away rather than notice body hair or stomached or muscles that had no business existing. "You've got to be kidding me," Derek muttered to himself.

He looked down at himself and immediately yanked his shirt back in place because, yeah, nobody needed to see that.

"A three year old can manage, I thought you could too."
Nailed it.

"I'm not at my most coordinated today," Stiles said as he tied his sweatshirt around his waist. Good, he could maneuver it in front of him just in case anything embarrassing happened. "How are you not hot right now?"
Well, Derek was hot right now, which was something Stiles was trying not to focus on.

"Yeah, but you are wearing those jeans." Those tight, tight jeans.
no subject
"I'm not taking off my pants." Wow, this escalated quickly.
no subject
Oh god he didn't say he wanted Derek's pants off out loud, did he?
no subject
"Keep running," Derek snapped, ducking his head and taking off again, assuming he's be followed. Or be able to escape this nightmare.
no subject
He made a whining noise to himself because try as he might he could just not look away from it. "Oh my god this is a nightmare."
no subject
So, so much worse.
"Oh god," Derek said as what was going on suddenly hit him. It was that week that he dragged dead animals to the dorms all over again.
no subject
He still hadn't put together what was actually going on right now though. Mostly because he always felt like this to some degree, and he was also trying to will down sexy thoughts before an embarrassing situation happened. It took up a lot of concentration, which is why he ended up tripping over a twig and falling to the ground.
Well that was one way to avoid getting an erection.

And it helped that Derek had than the normal urge to shove food at Stiles face. This time he could probably keep it from being raw food. Maybe. Hopefully.
Derek stopped, staring up at the sky like it offended him before turning around to help. Which was another poor choice on his part. He was just full of 'em today! "Did you break something?"

Focus. He needed to focus. Stiles blindly reached out for Derek's hand because he needed to get up right now before things happened and Derek could smell it on him.
no subject
The grimace Derek was sporting probably meant he could already smell it. Because teenagers did that looking at a shapely tree or thinking about something that would cause them to trip. Clearly that is what was happening. "This was a bad idea."
Much like the deep breath Derek took once he'd yanked Stiles upright.
no subject
"I find running to be a bad idea all of the time."
no subject
"If you stopped flinging yourself at the ground it would work." Guys. Take a step back and stop trying to reinact Twilight.
no subject
"I do not fling myself to the ground," Stiles said. "I'm just not all graceful and crap like you are."
no subject
Derek? Derek, boo? Derek, stop staring at things.

When they weren't glaring.
"Not to that!" He was just assuming you were thinking about this Lydia person who he harbored no resentment toward at all. Honestly.

And the... Derek lost his train of thought somewhere along the way, taking a step back as he looked down at his arm. Stiles, this was cheating.
no subject
He walked past Derek, purposely knocking his shoulder into him as he went by before mumbling, "You should have just jogged with Ms. Day instead."
no subject
But this was good. Yes. Stiles made at him during this torture meant Stiles staying away from him as well. This was all going according to his master plan that had only just sprung into existence.
Good, good.
Derek huffed in annoyance anyway, watching him stomp off.
